Fitness Professional who inspires others on their wellness and self-care journeys through exercise, personal training and behavior change. I'm a collegiate track and field athlete (200 & 400 meters) who was fascinated by what motivated people to compete. I turned that fascination into a master's degree in sport and exercise psychology and along the way became certified as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor. I currently work as a Director of Healthy Living at a YMCA in Minnesota, but am found at least 5 hours a week teaching classes in the pool, in the studio, or up on the fitness floor.... getting my ladies to do pull-ups! I love learning, so the evolving fitness industry is the perfect place for me to be! Although I get teased about still having some of my playlists on CD, I've been known to connect with participants of all ages over music. Personally, I enjoy biking to work every day I can (Minnesota winters are harsh) and training for half marathons. I also was very fortunate to take part in a yoga/mindfulness retreat in Bali, Indonesia. What an eye-opening experience where I learned so much about myself!
