Teaching Philosophy

I believe movement is a universal language and practices centered in the physical body are a source of spiritual union. I believe movement meditation dissolves the illusion of separation and awakens us to embrace the divine in every experience.

Yoga and meditation are proven to eliminate physical tension, to heighten proprioception and interoception, to decrease stress and to establish new neural pathways. In my classes I create a safe space for practitioners to 1) foster their inner teacher, 2) improve their quality of awareness and 3) explore embodiment, the interconnectivity of the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual layers.

I have practiced yoga and meditation for over 20 years and have shared yoga with all ages and populations. My asana teaching is rooted in functional mobility and foundational anatomy; my classes are fun, intelligently sequenced and uniquely tailored to the individual needs of the practitioners present. For all levels I teach a diversely influenced, fluid vinyasa style with music, maximum demonstration and verbal cuing. Through mindful movement students balance the effort of exertion with the experience of ease, most importantly, practitioners leave class feeling empowered and rejuvenated.

I am tremendously appreciative to serve as a yoga teacher; sharing this healing practice is my life’s work and I have maintained a fulltime schedule since completing my 200-hour vinyasa training in October 2013. I am privileged to have experience with private sessions and diverse populations- hospitality settings, public studios, gyms, corporations, government locations, childcare facilities and underserved communities.
