I have been practicing yoga for 5 years and other forms of exercise for over a decade. I have my 200 Hour Yoga Certification along with my Certification in Prenatal and Children's Yoga.
In addition to Yoga, I teach group fitness classes for Seniors and am a NASM Certified Personal Trainer.
My journey
I resisted practicing yoga for years. I believed the myths that it is boring and slow and not a great workout. Boy was I wrong! Not only is yoga one of the most challenging workouts I've done, it takes hard work and dedication to practice it.
My Passion
Yoga gives me purpose and direction. I practice yoga because it helps me not only get to know my body but love my body. Yoga teaches me to be present and mindful which are two attitudes that I have become very passionate about. I enjoy adding a little bit of mediation and breathing exercises to my classes to help teach others how to be mindful and present.
In addition to teaching, I spend a lot of time continuing my education by attending workshops and seeking new certifications.
As much as I love yoga, I also love other forms of exercise. I work with a personal trainer regularly. I strongly believe that exercise can be healing in so many ways. I suffered for a long time from chronic pain due to herniated discs and exercise is what saved me from being bed ridden and living each day in pain. I love helping others lead better, healthier lives and showing them them that it is possible to feel good. We are all stronger than we think we are!
