Cindy began her study of yoga in 1994, in her hometown of Boulder, Co.

She was introduced to the Ashtanga lineage with the great privilege of studying with Richard Freeman at The Yoga Workshop in Boulder. After spending eight years immersed in study with Richard and the other incredible teachers there, she moved with her family  to Sebastopol, CA in 2002. There she continued to study with Ann Austin at Yoga Studio Ganesha and Johnny Smith at Westside studio.

Cindy has also had the wonderful opportunity to study with Ashtanga senior master teacher Tim Miller and taken several of  his Primary series teacher trainings in Tulum, Mexico, and Encinitas, Ca.  Having a background in dance, Cindy has explored blending her passion for dance with her love of yoga. She has studied with Shiva Rae and Hemalayaa in Los Angeles at the Shiva Dancing Yoga studio. Cindy also teaches a teen yoga workshop in Sebastopol, specifically designed for teenage girls age 13-18. Being a mother of two teen girls herself has helped her see that yoga is an essential tool for teens to learn to cope with the stressful teenage years, filled with hormones, peer pressure, and all the other myriad of stresses of our modern world. She teaches teens the Eight limbs of Ashtanga  yoga, which encompasses the totality of yoga on the mat and in the world. She encourages her students to find inner strength, flexibility in their bodies and minds, and overall balance in their lives.

The path of yoga is a potent tool as well as a beautiful gift. Cindy is grateful and honored to be able to share the sacred tradition of yoga with her students, allowing the power of yoga to transform their lives.
