My goal is to make fitness more accessible. The reason I teach is because I want to share fitness with others, to influence peoples lives positively, and to connect with people on a more meaningful level. I believe my certifications, life experience, and acquired knowledge allows me to do this successfully. I strive to surround myself with mentors, inspiration, authenticity, and positive energy so that I can experience life to its fullest, and then share these experiences with others!
I have taught yoga and group fitness classes over the past 10 years. Fitness is an essential part of my life. I love to travel and am currently in a transition in life where traveling and teaching is ideal! I love adventure and have traveled for yoga retreats, horseback riding, Wanderlsut 108 Mindfulness Triathathalon, SCW fitness convetions and certifications, and for also just for fun! Home base for me right now is in Monticello, Iowa, where I was born and raised. I am currently teaching weekly Vinyasa Flow classes at our local gym and training center, plus private and small group sessions. Other classes I have taught at various studios and locations include: Spring Fling Flow Yoga around the Spring Equinox, Go with the Flow Yoga, Pases of the Moon Yoga and Meditation, Summer Solstice Sunset Yoga Flow, and Strong Bodies Strong Minds, a fusion class with HIIT, Yoga and Meditation. I've also taught active living classes, which utilized stability ball training, low impact modifcations, and circuit training for adults of all ages with various fitness levels, or those new to fitness. Along with my fitness background and experience, I also have my Master of Arts in Teaching Elementary Education. My research based professional project was based on incorporating physical activity into the classoom lesson plans, aligning with common core standards in ELA, Science, Math and PE.
I look forward to sharing my experience and practicing with you!!
