AJ Yamin is one of our Head Pros at Georgetown University Yates Recreation Center. A.J. is also a full-time staff member at Georgetown University working as a Senior Business Analyst at the McDonough School of Business. AJ played #1 at North Allegheny High School in Pittsburgh, PA, he then went on to play college on a tennis scholarship at Graceland University a NAIA division school from 1997 – 2001. A.J. played #1 and #2 singles and led the Yellow Jackets to its highest team ranking of top #7 in the nation, and top 4 in the nation in doubles. After graduating from college, A.J. moved to New York City to work in his field of Information Technology, but also kept close to the game he loves. He taught tennis at Sutton East Tennis Club in Manhattan, and Total Tennis upstate New York, where he worked with players of all levels. In 2002 AJ called the DMV metro area home, where he has worked with many reputable facilities both public and private. Since 2003 - present, AJ has been a certified USTA Tournament Director, hosting hundreds of junior events, averaging 2000 players a year. He has worked with sites such as Potomac Tennis Club – Potomac, MD, 4 Star Tennis Academy/The Bullis School – Potomac, MD, Regency Sport and Health – McLean, VA, The Potomac School – McLean, VA, and Arlington County Government – Arlington, VA. As a coach in the DMV, AJ has generated players that have gone to play Division I college tennis at top universities around the country as well as professionally. With his intensive tennis background and valuable experience, AJ’s addition to our tennis staff will contribute to Yates tennis program, and to continue to grow and retain our tennis base. AJ holds a dual degree in Business Administration and Information Technology, with a Master of Science in Management of Information Systems.
