Jill found her way to the mat when an injury temporarily forced her to hang up her running shoes and reconsider how to maintain a healthy, balanced body. Before her injury, Jill eschewed yoga as too “slow”, boring, and only for the “Gumbies” among us. When finally forced to slow down, Jill discovered and thrived on the unique balance of strength, vigor, relaxation, concentration, and mindfulness offered by yoga. After years of a dedicated practice, Jill became a certified instructor with Ryan and Stephanie Bessler at Yasa Yoga in Santa Barbara, California.   Jill has continued to expand her knowledge of yoga and teaching by following the teachings of the new generation of yogis dedicated to keeping yoga practices current with research divined from anatomy, biomechanics, physiology, and movement science.

Jill is known both for her welcoming and energetic spirit and for making yoga accessible and appropriately challenging for the seasoned yogi and novice alike. After Jill’s classes, it’s a common refrain that students never realized that yoga could be so fun and unintimidating! Currently, Jill shares her love of yoga at THE LAB, where she teaches a broad range of students ranging from professional athletes, recreational athletes, and folks who just want to give yoga a try.

When Jill isn't running, she can be found writing, practicing law, raising her two sons, or running up mountains.
