David received his Bachelors of Science degree in accountancy from Babson College and his CPA license while working for Ernst & young, LLP. David has over twenty years of experience working in the boston business world and currently is a vice president at AEW Capital Management in Boston.
David found his love for yoga in 2014 when he was seeking a sense of balance through mindfulness, a positive physical outlet, and a supportive community. David started practicing at South Boston Yoga and was immediately drawn to the positive mindset, the passionate teachers and the beautiful sense of community at the studio.
In 2015, David traveled to Italy on a yoga retreat led by Ame Wren and Kevin Courtney and surrounded by the beauty of the Umbria mountains, he realized yoga was always going to play a significant role in his life. In 2016, David attended a workshop by Kevin Courtney entitled “Samadhi” (pronounced sa-ma-Dee) and David found resonance with this eighth limb of Pantajali’s Eight-Fold Path; the concept of finding true presence of mind, releasing attachment, finding complete freedom, and ultimately, pure bliss. In October of 2016, david traveled to jamaica, to the Negril Center for Yoga, where David was moved by a beautiful soul of a teacher that repeatedly asked david to "find his warrior". while looking over a stunning sunset at rick's cafe in jamaica, "Samadhi Warrior" flashed in David's mind and from that moment on, his journey to seek samadhi would continue as a warrior and "samadhi warrior yoga" was born from within.
In February of 2017, David embarked on his teacher training journey at South Boston Yoga under the tutelage of David Vendetti and Todd Skoglund. The training was life-changing for David as it opened his eyes to the value of the other limbs on the path of yoga such as the mindful breathng techniques of pranayama, the reflective meditative qualities of dhyana, and delving deeper into the connection of mind and body through asana.
In June 2017, David earned his 200 hour YTT certification from South Boston Yoga and a month later, started a new chapter in his adventure, this time as a teacher. David’s goal as a yoga instructor is to guide the student through a sweeping arc of a yoga experience that focuses on breathing, stretching, strength, stability, surrendering, and releasing; ultimately, to a state of full presence, freedom, and bliss. David's goal is to guide the student to open their hearts, seek their bliss in the present, and find their own Samadhi warrior energy from deep within.
