Jessica 'Jess' Whittington has been practicing yoga since 2003 and started teaching in 2008. She completed an ERYT certification for the Yoga Alliance in 2010 and has also completed additional work as an Integrative Yoga Therapist. She has logged over 7500 hours of yoga instruction and is currently developing a teacher training module on ways to create a more inclusive yoga space for ALL students. She gravitates towards a more vigorous asana practice; mixing styles like Ashtanga, Vinyasa Flow, and Power Yoga to create unique yoga classes that emphasize muscle endurance, flexibility, and balance.
Jessica is also a natural healer, having experience with more nurturing yoga styles like Gentle, Kundalini, Restorative, and Yin. She enjoys taking the yoga discipline outside of the studio setting when possible and loves sharing its infinite gifts with more non-traditional students, taking great care to create a safe and welcoming space. Jessica often emphasizes to her students in class to not ‘fight their way into a pose’ but to ‘relax into it and let the breath lead the way'. She is honored to assume the role of teacher and takes great satisfaction in helping others to discover their true potential; using yoga as the catalyst to facilitate their own journey of self discovery and enlightenment.
