Theresa Riley

Hello,

I have been teaching Aqua Aerobics at the YMCA on a part-time basis since 2014.  The Aqua classes tend to draw seniors but we also have participants that are younger. It is a "feel good" safe workout and there are a variety of classes that can be taught: shallow, deep, high intensity interval classes, Aqua Pilates.  Depending on the available equipment (noodles, buoys) we could even have a circuit class. It all depends on the interests of the participants.  Some come for a high intensity workout while others might have had a hip or knee replacement and are looking to improve mobility, while others come to socialize and enjoy the comradery.

My certifications include:Aquatics Exercise Association (AEA), NASM as a personal trainer and Women's Fitness Specialist.

I prefer group classes, rather than one-on-one personal training.

In addition, I may be getting certified to teach Balletone.  It is beginners dance class that is low impact, focusing on balance and toning. Here is a link to a sample class https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1w7rAIGhRJ0.   Here is a class description from a local studio:"Stand taller, feel stronger, have more energy! Balletone uses ballet moves and exercises to strengthen, tone, align, and stretch your entire body. Incorporates cardio, pilates, floor exercises, and stretching. If you enjoy or want to try the elegance of ballet and work off those inches, this is the class for you. Bring an exercise or yoga mat. Wear comfortable workout clothing and bare feet."

I am checking to see if there is a need for Balletone and or/Aquatics classes. I am in my fifties and have a full-time job while working at the YMCA part-time. I heard of your organization through our Group Exercise coordinator and am checking to see what kinds of opportunities there are.

Sincerely,

Theresa Riley
