I started playing tennis when I was 12 years old. I fell in love with the sport and have been playing tennis ever since. I played competitively since high school and continued to play into college. I played four years of collegiate tennis at George Fox University. During my collegiate career, our tennis team travel to Texas where we stayed at John Newcombe Tennis Academy. I reached out to the tennis director and he invited me to coach tennis over the summer season. This is where I started coaching tennis to both children and adults. At the tennis ranch we specialized in teaching advanced techniques and fundamentals with a variety of drills. I was responsible for assembling and organizing drills that allowed people to put into action the techniques that they just learned. After I finished my four years of eligibility for college tennis, I stayed on the tennis team as an assistant coach for two years before moving on. I also assisted at our university tennis summer camps where we taught tennis to all skill levels. I have continued to play and coach private tennis lessons over the years. I also assist at the St. John Racquet center where there is an emphasis to reach out to teach at risk youths tennis.
