I flirted with fitness for the first 40 years of my life. It was alway a dreaded chore. I couldn't see how others actually enjoyed working out. Then I stumbled onto Zumba and fell in love with it. As I slowly learned the steps & my cardio capacity increased. I dropped 50 lbs and felt great! I realized that I had to share this with others, so I became a Zumba instructor. Sharing my passion with others is a real joy to me. One of the things I love about Zumba is participants can go at their own pace. From substitute teaching I learned that students want to be sucessful, so I use simple choreography for those classes.
I soon learned that one certification would not be enough, I wanted more. I added Zumba Toning, ViPER and Group Power. My next step on the horizon is Yoga or Yoga Pillates fusion type certification.
My full time job puts me sitting at a desk, behind a computer. I am and Administrative Analyst in New Jersey's child welfare agency. I work in the legal department and spend a good deal of my time writing and reading. Its a good job with plenty of vacation time and pays the bills.
I'm married, have 2 grown children, 2 dogs and more fish than I can count. Other than fitness, I enjoy hiking, gardening and traveling.
