I am the mom of four ranging in age from 24-24 and have been married to my husband for 27 years. I received my B.A. from Brigham Young University with a degree in German and a minor in History alongside a certifcation in Secondary Education. I have a love for teaching others and I'm currently employed by our local school district as a subsitute teacher. I substitute in classes ranging from Kindergarten to 12th grade. I have tried many workouts since the time I started working out in High school. In the 80’s and 90’s I put on my fluorescent spandex and went to high-impact aerobics classes. The music was loud and each class was a choreographed dance party. Step aerobics was my next love. The choreography was at times challenging, but once “I got it,” it was fun and satisfying. In addition to these, I’ve also tried running, spin, lifting weights, zumba and many at home workout videos. In 2004 I received my IFPA personal trainer certification and focused my efforts as a trainer for an at home workout called T-Tapp. I offered clinics to those who wanted help perfecting their form for this workout. Several years ago, when my sister in law was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis she asked if I would try Bikram Yoga with her. She was hoping it would alleviate some of her symptoms. At the time I wasn’t doing much working out and the 26 pose sequence was challenging. As I practiced I noticed that I could see incremental improvement. I know that improvement can be seen in other workouts, but yoga turned a light on in my mind. The light shined brighter each time I left class happy to have gone deeper or further in a pose. Yoga is my passion. I have been practicing for about four years. I took it to the next level in February 2018 when I signed up for Teacher Training with Core Power Yoga in Boulder, Colorado. I want to share with as many as I can the benefits of practicing yoga.
