Aleeah Sheehan

Aleeah has been practicing yoga asana (physical form) consistently since 1997. Aleeah’s motivation to take up yoga in her teen years was a need to strength her back to reduce lower back problems and to decrease anxiety and nervous energy. Through regular prac- tice, she succeeded in alleviating the back pain, as well as, witnessed the powerful emo- tional healing potential yoga can offer both on the mat and off. Yoga has become a way of life for Aleeah. Indeed, after years of practicing yoga consistently, she made a com- mitment to combine her educational background in teaching and passion for yoga by be- coming a certified yoga instructor. Aleeah graduated in 2007 from the 200-hour yoga teacher training through CorePower yoga. Aleeah augmented her expertise in yoga through advance yoga training with local legend, Monique Maxwell as well as studying with yoga greats and master instructors Dharma Mittra, Sean Corn, Paulie Zink. Fall of 2011 Aleeah completed an additional 200-hour certification at LifePower Yoga as direct- ed by Jonny Kest. Additionally, in June of 2013 she completed the 300 hour certification with LifePower Yoga. Currently, she has the equivalent of 200 hours of training and working toward Level 1 certification through Para Yoga with Rod Stryker.

When she is not practicing yoga she enjoys spending time with family and friends, snow- boarding, rock climbing, ice climbing, biking, and reading. Aleeah looks forward to guiding her students to better wellness from the inside out through the calming and bal- ancing practice of yoga, breathing techniques, and meditation.

“Since I was 9 years old yoga has been a part of my life. My mom was convinced that if I did yoga and learned to breathe better I could curve my nervousness and stage fright. Yoga did in fact teach me to breathe better and clam my nervous mind. Here I am years later still practicing and teaching fellow yogis to improve the way they breathe and to calm their active minds. When I teach students, I encourage presences and the opportu- nity to make a connection to their physical body to access the other layers of their being. I have been teaching for almost 13 years and have yet to teach the same class twice. I am honored to be a student first then a teacher of this ancient art from we call Yoga.” Om Shanti
