Keli Brunson

Keli is an AFAA Certified Personal Fitness Trainer and loves weight training, Pilates and social dancing (Latin dance, ballroom, swing, etc.) as her top 3 favorite ways to stay in shape. She has an 8-year old daughter who also keeps her active with roller blading, bike riding, and ballet. She currently holds an Associate's Degree in Arts from Parkland College in Champaign, IL. She also attended Northern Illinois University and majored in Accounting and minored in Dance. Currently seeking National Certification from the NBFE. Fitness wasn't always in her repertoire and it wasn't until about 5 years ago when her severe migraines began to overcome her that she took fitness seriously. After struggling with changing her eating habits and hiring a personal trainer, she was soon helped to realize that our health is so much more than just physical. Our mental, social and spiritual well-being all plays a part in our quality of life. Those 12-weeks were life changing and Keli couldn't wait to pass the knowledge on. She soon after became an avid health journal reader and especially loves researching and dispelling the myths that are thrown into the media surrounding fad diets and miracles moves that claim to cure all of someone's medical and weight loss problems. Even after these changes, something was still missing professionally. She soon attended a personal development workshop at the suggestion of a friend, learned to turn her fear into power, and broke through a 2x4 with one hand. Going back for more she has snapped arrows with her neck, climbed a 20-foot pamper pole and jumped, and completed an obstacle course suspended 30-feet in the air among other challenges. She has now been involved as a crew member for this local group for 3 years helping others break through their life barriers. Those experiences and her faith were a key part of helping her make the move from a cut throat corporate environment — where it is seldom nurturing for those who seek better overall health — to the career of her choice. Switching midstream from Accounting to the health and fitness world was a welcomed change. Keli made the "official" move into the health & wellness field on December 31, 2005.
