Zumba fitness has played a significant role in my own personal wellness journey, by offering a safe and exhilarating option for interval-cardio regimen to my exercise routine for over ten years, I found love for an exercise program that does not ever feel like exercise or work even! For health and personal life reasons, my journey to becoming an instructor was a not swift, straight, nor easily initiated process in the making. My entire professional career has been a collection of positions that involve caring for, supporting, advocating, and educating children and families within the surrounding Ohio communities: Assistant daycare manager/teacher; Respite Care Worker, for Summit County Children Services Board (CSB); Certified Child Life Specialist, at Akron Children’s Hospital; and as an Educational Specialist for the federally-funded TRiO programs, for Educational Talent Search at the University of Akron. Throughout this very diverse professional path, it was my equal passion for ballroom Latin dancing that lead me to Zumba. After a long search, I discovered an energetic/synergetic, cardio-strength building-dance class that was disguised as group fitness course within my local YMCA. After marriage, children, and two degrees later, I decided it was time for me to become a Zumba instructor. And nowI love teaching and sharing Zumba even more
