Kourtney Kalahar

Kourtney Kalahar began her dance career at age two. She studied dance in Sarasota for 16 years until she entered College at Florida State University. Her preparation was in Ballet/Pointe, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, and Lyrical under the instruction of a diverse group of accomplished dance professionals from a former Rockette to a Royal Academy ballerina. She also studied Irish Dance at the Drake School for 4 years and went on to become Principal Dancer of the Riverview High School Kiltie Band Highland Dancers.

 

Kourtney has been teaching and choreographing for 8 years, holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, and has been an instructor at numerous studios around the Sarasota to Tampa area. At each of these venues her students have excelled and won numerous awards. Kourtney is also currently coaching the Lakewood Ranch HIgh School Dance Team known as the Silver Stars. 

 

Miss. Kalahar also had the privilege of studying Ballet, Jazz and Contemporary at FSU under Anna Manja Lancher, Amy Mucherelli, and Nicole Roderick. And she has taken Master Classes in Tap and Hip Hop with Tyce Diorio, Ryan Lohoff, Shane Sparks, Bubba Sparx, and Chabar Williams.

 

Kourtney has enjoyed success, both performing and as a competitive dancer. She has danced at the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade, Hollywood Christmas Parade, and as a back-up dancer on MTV. She competed for 4 years at the FBA State Championships, where she was a Platinum Award winner as a soloist. Kourtney also made the second round of auditions on the television dance competition So You Think You Can Dance in 2009.

 

Being a Certified Personal Trainer as well as a Cycle instructor for the past 5 years also brings a unique side to Kourtney and her visions.
