Lauren Mason

I first started practicing yoga as a teenager as a part of my dance training. During my college years, I started practicing more consistently and began to really enjoy the mental and emotional benefits of yoga along with the physical benefits. When dancing, the focus is all on how things look, and that was often very hard for me, especially as a young woman. With yoga, I was able to enjoy moving my body while finding space for self-exploration.

I have always loved teaching, and hold a degree in secondary education. My yoga practice became more serious and a central part of my life when I started working at Yoga Yoga in Austin in 2012. Almost immediately, I knew I wanted to pursue training to become a yoga teacher. I completed my 200-hour training in 2013 and since then have also completed over 900 additional hours of  advanced training in prenatal yoga, anatomy, breathing, meditation, and yoga therapy. I now own my own yoga school where I educate others on yoga teaching.

My teaching and my personal yoga practice are all about nourishment. I take care to meet myself and my students where they are every day and shape the practice around what would be most rejuvenating or soothing. I love what I do, and look forward to new discoveries every day.
