Sarah Arsenault

I first fell in love with Pilates during my freshmen year at Tufts University in 2000, where I majored in Classics. In one of those serendipitous events, I was re-introduced to Pilates in 2006 at a time when I was ready for a significant life change. Encouraged by my instructor, I began training through STOTT Pilates in 2007 and have since completed Level I & Level II Mat, Reformer Levels I&II, Chair Level I, Injuries & Special Populations, and Anatomy for Functional Training as well as numerous workshops.

I firmly believe that Pilates can be a wonderful conduit for both physical and mental change and enjoy encouraging my clients to find the mind/body connection while setting and reaching their fitness goals.  I have a strong focus on proper form with an emphasis on functionality.  A common “complaint” from clients is that they hear my voice when raking, shoveling, or even carrying groceries- reminding them to engage their shoulder girdle and core properly so as to prevent injury.

In 2013 I opened my own small Pilates studio in rural NH and enjoyed building a community of dedicated Pilates enthusiasts. Due largely to their request for yoga classes,  I attended Kripalu for my 200 hour yoga teacher training in April/June 2016 and found I loved teaching yoga just as much as I did Pilates! I continued to build my studio until I made the decision to move to South Carolina in 2017, due to meeting the man who is about to become my husband. It was difficult to leave my clients and my business, but I was lucky enough to find a wonderful Pilates instructor who bought the studio and from all accounts is still going strong.

These days I spend most of my time as an Ayurvedic Health Practitioner and teaching Meditation, however I still enjoy teaching Pilates and Yoga approximately five hours a week.  It has been one of my greatest joys to introduce people to these modalities of strengthening and healing over the past decade, and I look forward to continuing to do so for many years to come.
