Brandi Heuchert

My name is Brandi, I have been a Registered Medical Massage Therapist since 2004 year and a Medical Acupuncturist since 2014. I have practiced yoga personally since my teens but became more serious about teaching yoga when I knew I could incorporate yoga into a therapeutic recovery plan for many of my patients. I have worked independently for the majority of my career and in 2010 founded Perdue Massage and Acupuncture where I serve a rural population with medical massage therapy, medical acupuncture, and therapeutic yoga. A few years ago I also started to train in Pilates and received certification to teach. I currently upgrading and refreshing my Pilates training, teach personal clients in a one on one setting, and teach group lessons online to other Registered Medical Massage Therapists for their own personal benefit and in order to direct them in helping their clients with exercise rehabilitation.

In 2018 I was honoured to be invited to join a medical research and advocacy group Farmer's and Ranchers Mental Health Initiative. We work to research healthcare in rural and remote Saskatchewan (the province where I live) and then to make proposals and advocate for change within our healthcare system by presenting data and recommendations that we gather through our research. Over the years I have participated in multiple research projects and am a co-author in many peer reviewed medical research publications. In 2020 I was awarded the MTAM Research Award for my contributions to research in the field of medical massage therapy. I have been featured as a key note speaker for my research at massage therapy conferences.

I am very proud of my most recent education business venture. In 2021 I founded rmtPRO Education. I teach other Registered Medical Massage Therapists, Osteopaths, Physiotherapists, and Naturopathic Physicians continuing education across the health and wellness realm interprovincially. Included within rmtPRO Education is rmtPRO Yoga, which was started to encourage healthcare professionals to take care of their own health while earning continuing education credits for doing so. rmtPRO Yoga has become one of the most popular offerings of rmtPRO Education, drawing healthcare students from every province and territory in Canada.
