- Erin Purcell
My name is Erin Purcell, I received my 200 RYT in January 2016 through the Red Lila School of Yoga in Baltimore, Maryland. As a cross country runner in high school, I was introduced to yoga as a method of body awareness and recovery. I kept up my practice through my college and post-graduate years, consistently coming back to yoga as a method of finding space to slow down and detach, while building inner strength. Teacher training allowed me to take my practice to another level both physically and spiritually.
Since my graduation from yoga teacher training, I have taught in gyms, pop-up classes, and privately. I am in-tune with my audience and enjoy to give students a challenge during class, while making yoga accessible to all. I am skilled at breaking down poses for all levels, and helping students achieve a positive mindset throughout class.
Outside of teaching yoga, I was introduced to "travel yoga" by way of a yoga retreat I went on to Bali last year. The retreat allowed for an immersive exploration of the spiritual side of yoga, while allowing for an amazing travel adventure with like-minded individuals. But, it also opened my eyes to what a wonderful addition an opportunity to do yoga on vacation is! It was wonderful to start and end my day with a flow, and I would love to offer that to others.
Finally, I am professionally an architect and believe my creatively-focused profession definitely aids in my ability to create dynamic and fun sequences. I look forward to opportunities that may come my way!
