Barbara Nelson

Barbara is a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher 200 Hour and graduate of the Prancing Peacock Teacher Training Program.  She took her first yoga class while in high school and instantly fell in love - over 20 years ago and she can still remember her first savasana!   She continued to practice various lineages throughout her adult life as a compliment to running. While coping with a back injury, Barbara began to incorporate meditation into her practice and began to increase how often she did yoga and decrease running and other forms of exercise.  The transformation of body, mind and spirit that happened inspired her to delve deeper into the practice. Practicing and teaching yoga brings balance and a sense of wholeness and wonder to her life.

 

Barbara teaches vinyasa flow yoga giving detailed cues helping students achieve their best version of the pose.   She feels passionately that yoga is for everyone and her challenging and fun classes allow the individual to meet their body where their mat is, with a sense of self love and compassion.  When she is not on the mat, she loves to read, cook and hang out with her three kids, husband and dog.
