Alex Winkler

Alex Winkler studied at the University of McGill to obtain a Bachelors of Education. In Montreal she fell in love with running up Mount Royal. Unfortunately, she faced reoccurring injuries often prone from such a high impact sport. This led Alex to other areas of conditioning training to compliment her running: barre and yoga. Alex is confident that barre helped tone weak muscles that no other form of exercise offered her, drastically helping prevent injuries and improve her running. The love for this exercise led her to become a qualified Stott Pilates Barre Instructor in 2014. Additionally, she started her own fitness program PushtheBarre(PTB) centered around cross training runners through barre.
Thanks to a more balanced exercise routine, Alex is able to enjoy yearly half-marathons around Canada and the United States. Additionally, in 2015 Alex moved to Australia to complete in the Gold Coast Australia Marathon finishing in under 4hrs. While in the land down under, Alex coached the Lululemon Melbourne Mindful Triathlon group where she led weekly run, yoga and meditation classes and also enjoyed her own practice of hot, yin and aerial yoga.
Ready to further pursue her love for yoga, Alex traveled to Bali, Indonesia challenging herself to visit a new yoga class a day for a month. Her adventure ended on Gili Air Island where she volunteered and lived at a yoga ashram to enhance her practice for an additional month. In 2016, Alex then moved to India for two months to complete her 200Hrs Yoga Teacher Training.
Now back in Montreal Canada, Alex is a full time fitness instructor and Enso Yoga while also doing various weekly online classes. She is not only excited and inspired to teach all she has learned, but to also further grow from each student she meets.
