I have a BS degree in Psychology from Purdue University and a MA in Public Adminstration and Administration of Justice from Webster University. I chose a second career as a Fitness Instructor and Massage Therapist after 20 years in the Army and retiring as a lieutenant colonel in 2002.
I retired to Wisconsin and took 2 years off to be a mom prior to attending Blue Sky School of Professional Massage and Therapeutic Bodywork. I chose the Medical/Therapeutic track because of the versatility in applying it to the entire spectrum of Massage Therapy, from relaxation to attending to pain or range of motion issues. Since opening my business in October of 2006, my clients are not only coming back again and again, but they are recommending me highly to their friends. I keep extremely fit through spinning, group fitness classes, lifting and soccer. I have an easy going personality that allows me to connect very well with my clients and, therefore, thoroughly meet their needs during their massage therapy sessions. As an approachable and very personable Massage Therapist, I can make even the most nervous and first-time clients comfortable during their massage.
I am also a high energy group fitness instructor specializing in kickboxing, strength and resistance and bootcamp type classes. The classes I teach 3-5 times a week at Ellipse Fitness focus on intense cardio kickboxing 3 days a week and a variety of strength and resistance training two days a week. I am the primary AMP'D and The Edge instructor for Ellipse Fitness, North Location, Appleton, WI. AMP'd is an 11-week class that combines muscle toning resistance training and fat-burning high intensity cardio 4 times a week for 1 hour. The Edge is a 40-minute, twice a week heart-pounding, hard burn sweatfest! I also teach a 6 week Kettlebell course as well as a mini-Camp AMP'D for 7th, 8th and 9th graders during the summer. I am qualified to teach power kickboxing, interval training, plyometrics, kettlebell and a variety of bootcamp style classes.
