When I graduated from high school I was either going to be a PE teacher or nurse. I chose the nursing path and have never regretted this choice.
I am a Registered Nurse and teach nursing students at the university level. With the love of physical activity, health promotion and disease prevention has been the platform for my nursing career. I practice a holistic self-care regimen for my personal health as well as to be an example for self-care to my patients and students. I created and teach a self-care for the healthcare professional course for college credit. I consistently have rave reviews from the students who take this course.
I strive for a balance in my life. Yoga has given me a tool to address my body, mind, and spirit and thus enhance my personal self-care. I have been practicing yoga for over ten years. It only made sense to become a yoga teacher to share my love for yoga and the balance it brings to my life with others.
