Akansha Saxena

Bio

Akansha was born and raised in India and has lived in US since for over 12 years. She began learning yoga and transcendental meditation from the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Institute in India since her high school. Later, when she moved to US, she got the opportunity to learn from the instructors of Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in Berkshires and she still finds every opportunity to learn from more teachers. Consistent practice of yoga and meditation has helped her in boosting creativity and increasing focus through life especially in difficult times and she wants to spread that learning to others as well.

Akansha finished her doctorate couple of years ago and now works in pharmaceutical industry. She believes in maintaining a well-balanced life with equal focus on work and health. She believes that diet, exercise and sleep are all very important to show success in other spheres of life. In addition to teaching her yoga classes, she also has a passion for dancing. You can often spot her in the gym teaching salsa to the members sometimes.

Her training philosophy focuses on teaching fundamentals of poses and building the connection between breath and movements. Concentrating on smooth and steady breath nourishes and relaxes the mind and brings positive energy. The main motto in her teaching is listening to your own body and being in the present.

  • Spending time with family and friends and visiting India

  • Enhancing her coding skills by taking online courses
