I have been teaching group fitness classes for over 22 years at the Greater Waterbury YMCA in Connecticut.  I started teaching Step aerobics in the early 1990's right when I graduated from college and my love for fitness grew from there.  Using my own creativity, I designed many of my own class formats which grew in popularity.  The Director of the YMCA at the time noticed my enthusiasm and hired me to be their Group Fitness Coordinator.  In this position, I turned an almost non-existent program into one that grew 6 times its class participation per month over the course of 8-10 years.  While this program evolved, I got certified and/or took specialty classes to teach Step, Group Fitness, Kickboxing, Personal Training, Pilates, Yoga, Bosu, Kids fitness, SilverSneakers, Active Older Adult, Aqua Fitness, Spinning, BodyPump,  BootCamp, Tabata, Mossa Group Kick and more.  I am currently certified in Step Aerobics and Personal Training.  All other certifications are expired as it was too expensive to keep up.  I currently teach high school Mathematics and teach approximately 3 classes per week at the YMCA.  My favorite classes to teach are Tabata style, bootcamp and kickboxing.
