Laura Thomas

As an adult, my passion for fitness stems from the many friends and relatives I have lost to diseases and the people in my life who struggle with daily setbacks from their conditions, whether chronic or unattended. I took 72 hours of class time and became an ACE-certified trainer in December 2016 after my desire to obtain the certification for a few years finally came to fruition.

In June 2018, I completed the extensive Certified Pre- and Postnatal Coaching from Girls Gone Strong's Coaching and Training Women Academy, which I renewed again in 2020. In June of 2022, I renewed this certification with their latest curriculum.

In addition, I completed a trauma-informed space holding training in 2020 as I felt called to learn how to keep a safe and supportive environment for my clients regardless of race, sexual orientation, body type, gender, or any lived experience my clients may have. I understand I hold privilege as a white, heterosexual & cis-gender woman and that it is critical to be empathetic and understanding without implicit bias or bypassing trauma to those who are not in my same position nor have had the opportunities that have been extended to me. I continue to study and actively participate in anti-racism work in the fitness industry and personally. In addition, I am an anti-diet culture and do not believe in cleanses, detoxes, or anything of the sort. Please feel free to ask me about this work.

In March of 2021, I became a 200-hour certified yoga teacher.

In 2023, I became a certified GGS-1 Coach to further my knowledge of working with women during other life transitions outside of pregnancy and postpartum. In 2024, I became a Schatz Method practitioner in working with people's pain and injuries and getting them pain-free.

I enjoy hiking, weight training, yoga, walking, and swimming.
