Yoga Alliance 200 hour certification Blooming Lotus Yoga School Lily Gonzales Instructor Thailand
I started a practice in yoga as a teen and have always had that as a very important part in my life. I have shared this love of yoga with my family and friends and travelled to Thailand in 2011 to become a certified teacher of yoga. During this certification I learned about the many Limbs of Yoga and fell in love with Meditation and the yogic way of life which is very important to the way I live each and every day. I live a life with a healthy vegetarian diet and daily yoga practice, along with meditation. My lengthy career as an educator has given me so much time teaching that it is part of who I am. I am able to bring these skills to the teaching of yoga.
I have had a very exciting career as an educator working with children and adults of all ages at camps, in specialized institutions, and eventually in school settings. I attended the University of Western Ontario, then received my teaching certification from the University of Toronto. I started my formal teaching career in Toronto and then moved to London, Ontario where I have worked for many years. I also took a number of years to teach in Quebec and the United States. As a Principal I did professional exchanges in Australia and Italy as well. I have taught children from aged three to adults.
I have travelled extensively around the world since a teen until current days. I have spend many trips abroad throughout Europe, India, Thailand, Vietnam, UAE, Australia, Peru, Africa...as travel is a passion of mine. A favourite trip was on safari in South Africa. I am also currently hiking the Bruce Trail ( over 880 km in Ontario). At home I ski both Alpine and Nordic, snowshoe, and love all boating and water sports.
I have been involved in many yoga retreats in India, Bahamas, Quebec, Mexico etc.
I am passionate about yoga, fitness, and travel and I am so thrilled to be able to bring these all together with fitness pro travel!
