My journey becoming a fitness instructor is a big part of who I am.
An avid dancer ever since I was a child, I have always tried to find ways to incorporate dance & fitness into my everyday life. After taking studio classes all my life and competitive dance teams in high school, I sought opportunities to dance in college on the Miami University Hip Hop Crew. After a couple years, I decided to take it a step further and pursue a career founded in dance. It was then that I came across a Strong by Zumba demo video online, which got me hooked on HIIT workouts that are perfectly synced to the beat. Addicted to the calorie-torching fitness class, I realized I wanted to become an instructor for Strong by Zumba and potentially other classes at my university.
That summer, each night after work, I trained heavily at the gym and came home to study for my group fitness certification test. After 12 weeks of diligent preparation, I successfully passed my AFAA certification, CPR certification, and became licensed by a Zumba Education Specialist to teach Strong by Zumba. A month later I was hired to teach the format at Miami University, and two months after that I became an instructor for two additional formats: Basic Zumba and Total Body Tone.
I am extremely proud that I had achieved multiple certifications on my own and passed 3 auditions all in 5 months, while most students at my university take a full year to attain the same goals. As a highly motivated, dedicated, and energetic fitness instructor, I'm ready to share my enthusiasm to dance and torch calories in a fun, party-like setting with others!
Currently, I continue to teach Zumba classes at Crunch Fitness in the Cincinnati area in addition to other Crunch formats, such as Absolution, Slammed, Cardio Sculpt, Looped In, and Stacked. I love what I do, and my goal is to make others fall in love with fitness as well!
