Allison Laframboise

Allison Gemmel Laframboise, E-RYT 500

Allison has been teaching yoga, experiential workshops, and leading retreats at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health, North America’s largest yoga retreat center, since 2004. Allison discovered yoga in college when she was both curious about the practice and looking for a way to ground herself through challenging life events. In 2003, she trained to become a yoga teacher at Kripalu and has since studied with renowned teachers in numerous depth trainings. She holds a professional level yoga teaching certification from Kripalu, and has authored two books on yoga, including: Pranayama, a path to healing and freedom. Prior to becoming a yoga teacher, Allison graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Boston University and worked in the field of public health research for six years. Today her work is a combination of her life’s true callings—teaching yoga and African-style hand drumming and running her yoga-inspired jewelry line, Prasada. Allison loves to travel (especially to the ocean), water-ski and snowboard, and her greatest passion of all, mother her sons, Kai and Tayo. Allison is calmed, energized, and renewed by living on a lake in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts, where she loves to spend time enjoying life with her family.
