Alex Curtis received his 200-Hour Yoga Alliance certification from Yoga to the People in 2010 while studying
at the University of California, Berkeley. Since then, Alex has taught classes across the country - from San
Francisco to New York City.
Alex teaches Hatha & Vinyasa style classes, and works in heated and non-heated studios.
His signature class is an un-heated, medium-paced flow where he combines the athleticism of vinyasa yoga
with the qualities of mindfulness and inner presence derived from Vipassana meditation.
Alex encourages students to be playful, compassionate, and generous with themselves through a full range
of experience on the mat: to find peace in moments of challenge, and equal awareness in moments of ease.
The ultimate goal of yoga, he feels, is not to become super-humans on the mat, but to uncover the most
joyful, peaceful, and authentic versions of ourselves.
