I am a certified fitness trainer (NASM, ISSA). I am also a certified pre natal fitness trainer (NASM). Prior to becoming certified I worked as a phys ed coach, part time at the Allen Stevenson School in Manhattan.
In addition to working at commercial clubs I also run my own fitness training business called "Your Personal Best...Fitness Training."
My philosophy is to train my clients like athletes train, accounting for individual needs, limitations of course. I focus on core strength/core fusion and functional training incorporating cardio, flexibility, balance, stability, and strength training in addition to core training. My small group classes also include boxing (I studied Tae Kwon Do and Jui Jitsu many years ago). My small group classes vary depending on our cycle stages. Sometimes we focus on stability training. Other times I design boot camp style workouts while other times we focus on SAQ drills. It depends on where we are in our cycles. I try to make all my sessions fun in addition to being effective.
I recently gave a 1 hour presentation on health & fitness to 100 women at Ernst & Young in NYC.
I will be attending the ACSM Health & Fitness Summit in Dallas, TX later this month.
Fitness and helping people are my passions and I truly love what I do.
