While practicing law is my job, teaching is my passion.
I became a certified AFAA instructor in 1994 and began teaching a wide variety of group fitness classes at a large health club, including hi/lo, step, slide, interval training, cardio boxing, cario kick, hip-hop, latin dance, body sculpting, spinning, trekking, and yoga.
After suffering disc herniations in my cervical spine and an annular disc tear in my lumbar spine, I was unable to teach. After two years of not being able to teach, I turned to yoga. Yoga significantly alleviated my back pain, and brought me back to wellness and balance. It became the focus of my teaching career, and my lifestyle.
After becoming certified in yoga in 2003, I embarked on a course of self-study that broadened and deepened my knowledge regarding yoga. In 2007, I opened a yoga studio of my own.
I teach an Iyengar-based class that focuses on proper alignment, and obtaining internal benefits as well as external benefits. My classes are for any level of participant, from the beginner to the highly advanced, regardless of age or ability.
My regular students have experienced significant benefits in many different areas. They are more flexible, more centered, more confident, more peaceful, stronger, happier, and healthier.
I am also currently teaching spinning/cycling, which I have taught since 1996. My classes are motivational rides where I coach the participants in engaging the connection between mind, breath and body.
Despite the fact that I am a lawyer and a partner in a a firm, teaching fitness is my passion, and I have tailored my life so that I can teach and share my gifts with others. I hope to share my gifts with you!
