Stanley Norris

Stanley Norris adopted a Sivananda yoga practice in 2002 to help with insomnia, fatigue and to recover from injuries sustained in martial arts. From yoga he got more than pain relief and a good night’s sleep. Stanley developed a meaningful, healthy and balanced lifestyle and his life was transformed over the following years.

In 2008, Stanley began to practice the Iyengar method of yoga and was introduced to acroyoga. That year he completed a 200hr ''Hatha'' yoga teacher training at Sivananda Vedanta Ashram in Madurai India. In 2009 he began teaching yoga and acro yoga although he only completed the 200hrs acro yoga teacher training program at Ashtanga Yoga Montreal in July 2011. He immediately quit his job, leaving behind a 20 year career in Events and Marketing to dedicate himself to teaching and performing acroyoga. He practiced Ashtanga yoga for the next 3 years and did another 100 hours of acro yoga training in 2013. In 2017, he began the 500 hour therapeutic yoga program with the Dr. Bali Method in Montreal. Today, Stanley teaches Hatha yoga and Hatha Flow yoga, Yin – restaurative yoga, therapeutic yoga, partner yoga and acro yoga (where he includes some massotherapy, which he learned from practice and following workshops over time).

Stanley has taught acro yoga as a duo with ''Fly and Flow'' (flyandflow.com) performing dance-inspired acroyoga routines both on festival stages and at corporate events. Stanley has taught acro-yoga under contract for two years at the Université de Montréal sports training facility and various forms of yoga at Lyne St-Roch Studio in Magog, and Studio-Pur in Granby, Quebec.
