Mission statement: I teach yoga to provide people with a safe space and the tools needed to find peace, empower themselves and change their lives.

 Biography:

The hero’s journey is the tale of a hero who is called to an adventure, and in a decisive crisis wins a victory, and then comes home changed or transformed. As a child growing up in rural Ohio, I longed for adventure, and as a young adult began embarking on every one I came across. I have lived in town and cities across the United States and traveled solo on several continents. Every one is sometimes hard, scary, awkward, hilarious, exhausting and enlightening. Every adventure is a learning experience, and every one leaves me changed.

The call to adventure has remained in my blood. I’m a 200 hour certified yoga instructor, wildland firefighter, international public health consultant and disaster responder. I volunteer with Team Rubicon, a veteran based international disaster response organization that unites the skills and experiences of military veterans with first responders to rapidly deploy emergency response teams to communities affected by disasters. Through my time living and working in close quarters with veterans I began to see the very real physical and mental manifestations of trauma and PTSD that they endure every day.

Our veterans have answered the call and often come home transformed by trauma. I teach to provide a second call to adventure. The adventure of relief, recovery, and reconnecting with body and mind. The path is paved with challenges but transformation is possible. I teach yoga to provide people with a safe space and the tools needed to find peace, empower themselves and change their lives.
