Beth took her first yoga class in 1997, and dabbled for years. It wasn’t until she was recovering from back surgery, that she established a consistent practice. Her yoga mat became a place to heal—physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Yoga has taught Beth the power of consistency, of breathing new life into each moment, and has provided a place to practice showing up with compassion no matter what arises. Beth likes to think she’s wiped equal amounts sweat and tears from her mat.

Beth started teaching at Portland Power Yoga in November 2016, and completed her 200hr teacher training at Live Love Teach in Rhode Island in March of 2017.  She teaches mindful-vinyasa: focused first and foremost on breath management (pranayama).  Beth enjoys teaching a challenging flow that can be modified for any body. She works to have each class be an opportunity to be fully present—a dynamic, moving meditation. Beth also teaches Yin yoga--a sequence deep stretching and some guided meditation. Our lives require strength and tenderness in equal measure, and Beth provides ample opportunity to practice both in every class.

Beth is also an LCSW, with a private practice in Portland, Maine. Whether teaching yoga, working with clients, teaching mindfulness to 1stgraders, or parenting her two boys, it is Beth’s mission to help everyone with whom she interacts find peace in their heart.
