My name is Rui Saraiva, and fitness has always been a passion of mine. Helping people change their lives and increase their longevity has always been a huge reward for me as an athletic coach and rehabilitator. My journey began in 2007 when I joined the Military. Shortly after in 2010 I wanted a new challenge, so I completed my firefighting training program where I was also designated Platoon Leader. My experience as a Paratrooper in the Canadian Forces and Firefighting platoon leader has given me great practice dealing with mental adversity. Having dealt with these high stress situations while under immense physical strain has helped me realize that true strength comes from the mind first. My biggest strength as an athletic coach has always been in my ability to help tap into an individual’s true potential, both physically and mentally, the same way I did my own. 

As I developed through my career, I also began noticing a large need for flexibility and mobility among my clients. I knew that if I wanted to get my clients to move better and achieve optimal strength that it would have to start with restoring their flexibility first. That’s when I was introduced to the world of mobility and flexibility - largely influenced by Physical Therapist Kelly Starrett. Helping clients restore their quality of life by making daily activities easier and more enjoyable has been one of the most rewarding things for me as a trainer.  I’ve completed numerous courses and certifications throughout my career, and doing so has equipped me with a large spectrum of skills that have really helped build my business as a professional.
