Danielle Moore

As someone who always did some form of extracurricular activity, it is interesting that I never ventured to yoga earlier in life. What’s even more interesting is that I merely happened upon yoga in 2015 as a means to attain greater flexibility.

I started by following lots of stretch and yoga YouTube videos, then of course I ended up following (on social media) tons of yoga personalities for inspiration. I would teach myself what I could from YouTube and occasionally go to yoga classes at the gym I was a member of. Yoga led me to meet a lot of beautiful people who were on a similar journey to mine; we would meet up often to flow and support each other.

My passion for yoga developed rapidly and took a swing in the same yet different direction. In January 2016 after much persuasion from my peers, I started to teach close friends and family. I found this to be absolutely fulfilling and realised I wanted more. It was at this time that DemiYoga Fitness was born as they say. My main objective now is to bring yoga awareness to the Barbadian community i.e. health, mental and physical benefits of yoga.

In May 2016, I decided I should learn more about teaching yoga “the right way” and went on to complete my Level 1 Yoga Teacher Training through YogaFit Training Systems.

Fast Forward to August 2017 where I gained my certification as a 200hr Yoga Teacher from Marianne Wells Yoga School; an experience I don’t think I’ll ever forget.

I now teach different styles of yoga, all focusing on linking our breath to our movement. My practice generally leaves persons feeling relaxed, rejuvenated and stretched. Practicing yoga has a way of clearing the mind and allowing one to find their purpose in this crazy world.
