My yoga journey began over ten years ago at my local YMCA. I had a very active lifestyle (running, cycling, swimming, weight training, etc.). I was searching for something that was more of a lifestyle for me. When a friend invited me to my first yoga class, I thought to myself, "A little stretching won't hurt.” Ha! I went to that first class and found not only a great physical training but an incredible mind training practice. I started learning how to breathe.
I kept going back until I later discovered hot yoga. The heat brought my practice to a whole new level. The mental focus it took helped me to channel all of my nervous energy into something more positive. I began to look at myself differently. I started to see my inner and outer beauty. I developed a greater heart of gratitude and compassion.
I was working full-time as a registered nurse when I was asked to begin teaching one class per week at a local gym. I became AFAA certified, and I took off from there. As my classes and my family grew, I decided to step out and teach yoga full-time. In 2018, I finished my first 200-hour training in Empower Flow at Solshine Wellness in Clemson, SC.
I now teach primarily at Solshine Wellness, but I continue to teach at a few local gyms as well. I love my yoga students! I believe that so many people are suffering from a deficit of love. My desire as a yoga instructor is to remind my students who they were before the world told them otherwise and to do that in a fun, imaginative way. I genuinely hope that you will join me on this incredible journey!
