I am passionate about helping my clients achieve their physical fitness goals, because I believe a healthy active lifestyle is a cornerstone to personal wellbeing.

As a busy father of two young boys, I face many of the same the challenges my clients do in juggling competing priorities.  My belief in the importance of fostering  “an energy baseline” through physical fitness has allowed me to achieve and maintain balance in my own life, and I firmly believe that I can help you on your personal health journey as well.

As a trainer, I have worked with a wide range of clients of varying levels of fitness and health — from absolute beginners to hard core fitness devotees. I have been able to cultivate a personal style of coaching that focuses on education, personal goal setting, and positive motivation. Your time is precious, and my goal is to help you achieve maximum benefit from your workout.

My personal philosophy is that fitness should not just be another line item on our endless “to do” lists.  Rather, it is something that can be seamlessly incorporated into our daily lives. Small healthy choices maintained over time can be more impactful to a person’s overall health than any drastic lifestyle change. Increasing your level of activity simply by taking the stairs instead of an elevator a couple times a week, or trying a new fitness class to change up your daily routine are examples of how you can do this. Adding variety and an element of fun keeps even the most basic fitness regime interesting and sustainable. While there must be an element of discipline to every successful fitness regime, I have found that helping my clients to set and work towards achievable personal fitness goals in a supportive environment is the formula to success.

As a child, I would watch strongman competitions on television. I was drawn not just to the incredible feats of strength they would demonstrate, but the sheer determination and focus they needed to perform such tasks.  When I was 23 years old, I began weight training and by 24, I began to seriously train in powerlifting and as an amateur strongman. I competed in a number of powerlifting and strongman competitions, with notable successes, but have always felt the proudest when competing against my own personal bests. I believe success is best measured inside, and the greatest reward when training your body is confidence and good health.

After achieving many personal fitness goals, I realized I wanted to help others meet their training goals as well. Over the next few years, I set to work obtaining nationally recognized credentials such as theCanfitPro Personal Training Certification, theCanfit Pro Children’s Fitness Coach Certification, as well as certification in powerlifting from Darby training systems.
