Matt Weston's journey into yoga started in 2001 with Bikram yoga to recover from a knee injury that required previous surgery. He practiced yoga regularly and noticed the physical benefits almost immediately, not only did he gain strength and flexibility back in his knee, but also the increase of muscle tone, weight management, and physical endurance. After a near two year break from yoga to concentrate on his "9 to 5" career, he found himself in a slump, mentally stressed, and physically exhausted. He ventured back into yoga in 2009 and he instantly knew that he needed to somehow make a career change and to explore, grow and improve his practice as we as his state of being. Feeling mentally alert and physically empowered, he soon took on other styles of yoga such as Ashtanga, Kundalini, and Iyengar, but found his true passion was in CorePower Yoga's Power Vinyasa Flow. In 2011 Matt took the big step into what he knew he wanted to do for the rest of his life, after completing CorePower's 200hr teacher training, he started working for CorePower teaching and sharing the tangible benefits and emotional rewards of yoga with all his students.
Currently Matt is part of the New Studio Opening team with CorePower Yoga where he travels across the nation opening and managing CPY's studio in new communities, which has led him from San Diego to Dallas, Philadelphia, to now currently Charlotte, NC. His love of yoga, and travel has led to a perfect combination where he can offer the gift of asana with others in idyllic locations.
