Vaz was first introduced to yoga at a very young age growing up with an Indian background. She started officially practicing yoga at the age of 15 taking classes at her local gym, and became attached to the physical benefits it provided her body as an athlete in high school. It wasn't until college where she began to develop a deeper practice by expanding the variety of yoga styles she practiced along with being involved in mindfulness/meditation training workshops. Through her self-exploration with yoga in the past couple years, she fell in love with the self-awareness, self-growth, and anatomical and physiological benefits it provided. Wanting to spread this love to others, she enrolled herself in an intensive 200 hour yoga teacher training program.

As a yoga teacher, she is inspired by the cycle of learning. As a teacher, you are always learning and what she learns is passed down through teaching to her students. As students learn about themselves through yoga, she learns new things from them too—and the cycle repeats. She believes through this cycle of learning is how she can facilitate connections with her students.

Vaz works as a full-time occupational therapist and currently incorporates yoga techniques/therapy into her clinical practice.
