Marcella Piersol

Marcella Piersol, retired LAPD Lieutenant after 22 years of service.  While on the department, was very active and represented in running races both Nationally and Internationally.  Some highlights include, Hood to Coast, Jasper to Banff, the Welsh Castle Relay, and the Road to Hana.  Was selected out of 1500 contestants for the original American Gladiators.  During my tenure gained limited teaching credentials and taught the DARE program and provided physical fitness training for police applicants.

Post retirement began teaching both indoor and outdoor cycling.  Became certified as a personal and group fitness trainer operating my own business at which time I also started training at a studio and leading boot camp on our local beach.  Also, in retirement I spent 4 years as the head cross country coach and distance track at a local high school.

Currently, I manage a fitness center (past 6 years) at a local resort called Terranea.  I have 16 instructors on staff and 4 fitness attendants.  The operation I am responsible for generates 500K a year to include corporate wellness, a membership and our regular fitness schedule/calendar.

Most recently, applied and was accepted to be a guest instructor at Rancho La Puerta where I went in Feb 2019.  Scheduled to return for 2 separate weeks November 2019.

While not working, love to travel.  Look for warm water and sun!  Love all things beach!
