I am an ACE certified fitness trainer with over 25 years' experience and E-RYT 500+ with more than 15 years' experience. As a former gymnast, I taught my first fitness class at age 18 and have been in the industry ever since. I've taught group fitness classes (aerobics, low impact, step, weight training, BodyPump, circuits, spin, barre, kickboxing, bootcamp, stretching, pilates, yoga and aerial yoga/fitness- basically you name it) and trained clients one on one successfully. I'm certified in BodyPump, BootyBarre, AntiGravity Fitness/Yoga, Piloxing Barre and Yoga and have attended numerous trainings, seminars, workshops and conventions over the years in both England and in the United States. As a Director of Teachers, I've hired, audited and coached new teachers as well as presented yoga teacher training for prenatal yoga.
I currently live in New York City and work both here and in Bergen County NJ, teaching in six separate yoga studios. My focus now is primarily vinyasa yoga, as I've mellowed from the intensity of a blaring bootcamp class. I'm also trained in pre-natal, yin and restorative yoga, meditation and pranayama. I'm a hands-on teacher equipped to instruct all "levels" of experience from beginner to "advanced" practitioner, all ages, all sizes and have experience with medically challenged populations. I encourage students to move in a way that best suits them. Safety is first and foremost and fun is a close second. I use eclectic playlists to motivate students to lose themselves in their practice and free themselves from physical tension, mental limitations and conjured judgment. It's my goal to provide an opportunity for students to leave class feeling ten times better than when they first arrived.
Teaching in a relaxed atmosphere surrounded by natural beauty in a vacation setting sounds like a dream job. Half of what I strive to accomplish with my students is already provided!
