So, you wanna know a little more about me, awesome! About 10 years ago, I was at my heaviest. I had 2 kids, worked a full time office job, and did NOT watch what I ate. So here I was, 28 years old, and supposed to be able to keep up with my kids. Instead, found myself getting winded quickly and making excuses to not do physical activities. I was depressed, and really hated the reflection I saw in the mirror. Despite having an active youth, in sports (hiking was my jam!), I was always overweight. This had been a life long struggle. I finally got real with myself and decided to do SOMETHING about it. I had little exercise technique and knowledge from my sports days, but I was no where near confidant. I didn't care because I was done with excuses. I signed up for a local gym and just started showing up. I knew that half the battle for me was just that, to show up. I did, day after day after day. Hour after hour after hour.

Fast forward a year, and I was down 100 pounds!  I was REALLY  doing this!! Achieving my goals! Don't get me wrong, there were some pretty ugly days in that year and some serious ups and downs, but what I started to realize was that I LOVED everything about working out. It became more than just the reduction of the number on the scale or the lowering of the pant size. It became who I was. It became my passion! Throughout that year, I learned SO much from other people I met and spoke with who had more experience than I did.

Later on, I took some time to reflect on my journey and realized that it might have been a little easier if I had someone alongside of me to high five, to give me a pep talk on those ugly days, to teach me the right way to do certain things, to just be my cheerleader and understand and appreciate the work that I put in. SO I decided to make it my mission to help others who might be feeling the same way! That's what started this crazy fun fitness career I now have and love! I went back to school, got my AFAA certification in group fitness. Then achieved a NASM certification in personal training to be able to take the teaching more personal.
Then I got hurt and had ACL surgery. Went through physical therapy and not only gained some weight in the process, but my body became unbalanced. After physical therapy, I worked with a personal trainer to balance myself out and kick my butt back in gear. It was everything I thought it would be and MORE! I decided then that I would again, go back to school! I went for my specialization in corrective exercise!

Here we are today!
I started my own business! In keeping with the spirit of the ups and downs, success and failures, which are part of every journey,  I decided to channel the inner phoenix in everyone I work with,  so Rise & Thrive was born! I am still human, still on a journey, and still LOVING every minute I get to help others get closer to and achieving their goals, celebrating the success, assisting and redirect thinking during the ugly times. I feel a deep connection with the people I work with because I 100% get it, but together, I know we can all achieve our goals!
