I truly do not know how I would function in life without fitness. Growing up on the shore of New Jersey, I played basketball and ran track for my school. I participated in gymnastics camps in the summer and was always out riding my bike, playing kickball, roller skating, and climbing trees. When I went off to college my active lifestyle continued with introductions to classes like spin, step-aerobics, and kickboxing. Graduating with a Masters degree in clinical social work I assumed a position in a school. In the midst of being a School Social Worker, and because of my love for basketball, I had the opportunity to coach, teach, and condition youth. After years of developing my own workouts for the youth and for myself, I decided to attain my certification as a fitness trainer. I quickly realized my passion for helping people meet their fitness goals. What I didn't realize is that my clinical skills as a social worker would couple so well with my skills as a fitness trainer. I became a social worker to help people overcome the obstacles in their lives and I became a trainer for the same reason, to support others through lifestyle changes. Now, with two sons and nearly 20 years of marriage, I am able to also support my family in living a healthy lifestyle.
