Adrienne Tessier

My Name is Adrienne Tessier I am a health & fitness enthusiast. My fitness journey began when I was 15. I was out of shape and was tired of not feeling my best. I turned to martial arts in the art of Taekwondo to become more active and do something with my family. My sisters and mom dropped out but I kept going. I had decided I wanted to finally see something through and achieve an important milestone - my black belt (which I received just a few years later) As a teenager this was my saving grace as it provided me with great health and I was surrounded by people that helped me believe in myself. I continued on the health path to University where I successfully completed my degree in Health Sciences with specialization in Human Kinetics. Health was my priority. I got into belly dance and continued with martial arts for my own enjoyment for many more years and got to teach in both disciplines. Eager to make a career out of it I became a health educator for a local health unit working in public health. My job was to help schools and community organizations with health programs for all ages. Shortly after... I became a mom of 2, in the beginning I was able to maintain my health and fitness lifestyle but then life started to kick in and I finally got to experience what people would tell me happened to them. I found myself to become sedentary - and it took some time for me to accept that this creeped up on me as I know better but also never thought it would ever happen to me. So I decided I would get back on track and go big! Instead of just working on myself I decided I am going to help others get moving too. I now have a brand new perspective on health and I am much more empathetic to those who have gone through similar challenges. I can now provide a loving space in my classes with acceptance of all beautiful souls that are on their health journey and I am so proud of them for being there regardless of their fitness levels. I hope to spark passion and joy for moving our bodies and be a positive inspiration for people I meet. I love to move and get people moving and recently discovered the beauty in slowing down and going within. I also teach guided meditation classes at a meditation studio in my city. Body and mind connection are my priority again for me today especially now that my children watching and I want to be the best mentor and example for them too.
