My name is Marie and I started taking step classes as a high school student. When I went to college, I asked the girls in the dorm if they would like to work out with me in the commons. This grew to girls asking me to teach them classes. The word spread and I was asked by the baseball, hockey and tennis coach to instruct the athletes. I decided that this hobby needs to taken more seriously and chose AFAA as my national certification in Group Fitness. I have been a Certified group fitness professional through AFAA for 25 years. Since then I have continued to stay certified and broadened my fitness training in other as as well. I am currently certified in Yoga, Pilates, Barre, Total Body Conditioning style classes from low impact weight training to high intesity fitness drill training. My full time job as a Junior High/High School teacher allowed me to bring my fitness training into classrooms. I started a yoga program for students to attend instead of going to study halls. My passion for fitness has always been strong and to bring this practice to those that are either fresh to fitness or veterans of training is amazing. I love to challenge all levels of fitness and I believe having a positive attitude everytime I enter the class shows my members that fitness is fun and should always be a part of ones day. I have always taught at local gyms in my area and have worked at Rochester Athletic Club for over 20 years. I enjoy staying up on the industries changes and my joy is to see members find their inner strength and commitment to living a healthy life. I continue to challenge myself to be the best role model for my clients and love to encourage all fitness levels.
