I have over thirty years of experience in the health, fitness and wellness fields. I hold various certifications; including yoga, yoga shred teacher (HIIT Yoga), personal training, senior fitness, and group fitness. I strive to educate and guide others to listen to their body and become more educated in what serves their own bodies and minds. I feel that living in a culture that often values the results more than the journey, we constantly compare ourselves to others and don’t strive to do what’s best for our own well being.
Yoga practice is a way of getting to know yourself and your body in the ways it is functional and the ways that it is limited. It is my heartfelt intention to encourage self-acceptance and to increase body and mind awareness. I realize and emphasize in my classes and seminars the importance of correct alignment and practicing within your ability, and to stay in touch with your own best self. I invite students to explore and experiment with their strengths and weaknesses, their minds and bodies, with an attempt to find some balance and contentment within themselves and their world, through the context of yoga.
i began training as a competitive bodybuilder in my twenties and explored other fitness realms including group volleyball, belly dancing in a troupe, gymnastics, personal training and nutrition counseling
i have also been employed in the healthcare field with various organizations for over 35 years.
